Being involved in the electronic music scene for a couple years now, I can reflect on how the music really does bring us all together. In the case of Pölygons by Tomac and Mad, it was 15 years of friendship that brought these two musical geniuses together to create an epic Trance anthem. The two were always close musically, bouncing ideas back and forth with one another. The pair boldly decided to join forces for this track being released today January 22nd, 2016, on Beatport. It will be under the Future Sound Of Eygpt sublabel, Excelsior.
The track Pölygons is a step outside the norm for the two artists, but the combination is very unique. Tomac is known well known for his Progressive Trance and Mad is known for his Uplifting Trance. With a very solid bassline, the intro ushers the audience into an epic trance journey. The main synth melody has numerous layers creating this almost organic wind instrument sound. The effect is a track with huge dimension that will fill up the entire space of any club. The breakdown is one my favourite parts with the synthetic strings and pads inviting you put your hands in the air for the high energy release. I love how there is small electro elements placed throughout the track as well; it really does finish off the track tastefully.
Tomac’s recent release on “FSOE Volume 3” Gabrielle is one to check out as well as his monster After Hours FM End of the Year Count Down set for 2015. Mad also has snippets of his work on his Soundcloud. I am looking forward to hearing more stuff released by him, as well as Tomac, in the near future!
