News: DJMAG’s #1 DJ to be revealed at Awards Parties Tomorrow

By: Sarah Chiu

Since the annual DJMAG Top 100 DJs poll wrapped up at the end of August, there has been a lot of speculation as to what the results will show. Even more so than years past, DJs did some heavy campaigning over the summer with giveaways, new releases, pictures, and videos that ranged from highly produced to silly, awkward, and downright hilarious. With DJMAG slowly revealing the #101-150 top voted DJs over the past few days (link), electronic music fans have been counting down the days to what may very well be, as many rumours have suggested, the day that Armin Van Buuren returns to the #1 spot.

Tomorrow night, October 19, 2012, the DJMAG Top 100 DJs Awards Parties will take place inside The Gallery at the legendary Ministry of Sound in London, UK and The Convention Factory in Amsterdam as part of the Amsterdam Dance Event. Both parties feature line-ups of trance and progressive house DJs who have all had phenomenal years and are sure to keep eager fans distracted and dancing before and after the most anticipated part of the night: the crowning of DJMAG’s #1 DJ as voted by you – the fans.

In the past two days, a couple of “leaked” Top 10 lists have surfaced on the internet; many of them have the same top 10 in different orders but, interestingly enough, Armin sits at #1 on all of them. Toronto-based DJ, Socialeyes, posted this version on his Facebook page (link) earlier today:

1. Armin van Buuren
2. Tiësto
3. Avicii
4. David Guetta
5. deadmau5
6. Hardwell
7. Above & Beyond
8. Dash Berlin
9. Afrojack
10. Skrillex

To catch some of the action live, you can tune in at starting at around 4PM and 5PM (EST) for the Amsterdam and London events respectively.
