The November 19th release of Rise Of An Angel is the prelude to Chilean artist Luciano’s forthcoming artist album, due in 2013.
Luciano has spent the summer in Ibiza playing weekly Ushuaia sessions and Vagabundos events at Pacha while also touring Europe and North America playing DJ sets at Cadenza parties. Rise Of An Angel has quickly become a signature tune and musical highlight of Luciano’s sets, making this a highly anticipated release for his thousands of fans across the globe.
Over 15 minutes long, this track is a beautiful combination of modern electric dance with a Balearic flare. With a synth and piano-driven hook, the build up is quite a tease, but it flows in such a way that one could play it for hours on end. The light percussion adds a sensuality and rhythm that captures the essence of Luciano’s sound. It’s soothing, relaxing, emotional, and sensual.
Remixes by Mirko Loko, UNER and Andrea Oliva are all available, with each artist adding their own production style and interpretation to the track. Mirko Loko takes a pulsating robotic approach adding more beats and bass for a heavyweight techno flecked remix. Meanwhile UNER dubs out with a rolling drum version using the vocal FX to support the track while the pianos ride over the mix. Lastly, Andrea Oliva dives in with tribal beats to a crescendo, adding a beautiful vocal selection to the original. I’ll admit, the Andrea Oliva remix is probably my favourite.
Rise Of An Angel marks the start of another big chapter in the career of Luciano. Having spent the last couple of years building a passionate audience through hundreds of DJ performances around the world, the Vagabunos events, and collaborating with artists such as Pharrell and Lenny Kravitz, Luciano is anticipating a bright and successful future with the upcoming 10th anniversary of his record label Cadenza Records, and the release of is highly anticipated artist album.
