NEWS: Art Exhibit Announced at “A Taste of Trap in Tribeca” Loft Event 26-01-13

Just announced! In addition to the live musical talent of Nima Yamini, Kid Mess, ILLE and Imanos on Saturday January 26, 2013, will be an Art Exhibit featuring ‘Another Motive’ Betten (www.jordanbetten.com), Hanksy (http://tomhanksy.tumblr.com) and Matthew Rowean (http://matthew-rowean.com/35278/fine-art) from 10:00PM-12:00AM. Presented by AvenueA Soundcheck and taking place at the Aksel Loft in Tribeca, New York, the evening will kick off with an Art Exhibit followed by the sounds of Trap in Tribeca.

‘Another Motive’ Betten aka Jordan Betten, is a New York City based artist and the founder of Lost Art. A luxury leather brand, Lost Art began in 1997 with the creation of his first bag called “The Road.” Since the beginning of Lost Art, all pieces have been made entirely by hand, in the tradition of the finest craftsmanship and attention to detail. The Lost Art collection includes clothing, accessories, motorcycles, instruments and guitar cases. Collectors include Lenny Kravitz, Steven Tyler, Sheryl Crow and many others. His work is regularly featured in numerous international publications such as Paris Vogue, W, Rolling Stone and ELLE. His mural are easily recognizable on walls around the world.


Hanksy is a street artist known for combining Banksy‘s familiar stencil images with the head of Tom Hanks. The popularity of his work resulted in major online attention (which caught the eye of Mr. Hanks himself) and a successful solo gallery show in December 2011. Matthew Rowean is a full time artist/designer based in NYC and his career has been defined by a blend of drive, ambition and creative talent. His talent is specifically focused on select creative projects and a higher dedication to fine arts, and as an accomplished artist he has exhibited work in several shows.

Notorious for throwing his A-list parties in New York City, producer Nima Yamini (http://nimayamini.co) founder of AvenueA Soundcheck, will feature three live artists, including himself in a beautiful Tribeca loft valued at about $8 Million dollars. AvenueA Soundcheck began producing concerts in 2012, in which The New York Post titled it the best Monday night party of the summer. Blackbook Magazine called it an “A-list Music Industry Event.” Yamini founded AvenueA Soundcheck in 2012, and this event will be the first 2013 loft-style concert. Mess Kid (www.facebook.com/Mess-Kid) is known in NYC for his blend of dark house, minimal trap and ghetto-tech. He is arguably one of the few New York DJs sitting at the cutting edge of sound. Mess Kid also recently played a set at the Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival in November, 2012. Indie producer ILLE (http://illemusic.com), a popular musical ambassador to the New York Fashion tribes, will also take part in the Tribeca loft event. Having opened for Bassnectar and Crystal Castles, ILLE is the indie sensation one girl revolution who actively runs three music projects, along with her own magazine and record label. ILLE has been interviewed and featured in media outlets such as ELLE Magazine and Dazed and Confused Magazine. Imanos (www.facebook.com/DJImanoS) is one of the hottest up and coming Electronic Dance Music producers from Vancouver, Canada. the 24 year old has headlined in clubs in major cities including London and New York. Imanos is currently working with Diplo on his debut EP.
