EVENT: Eric Prydz hits Toronto’s Guvernment February 17, 2013

Eric Prydz will play Guvernment in Toronto on February 17, a show that promises to deliver something different. A two-time Grammy nominee, including this year for his remix of M83’s ‘Midnight City’, Prydz remains true to the ethos that launched his career, which is to fundamentally to place the music first and foremost.  Buy your TICKETS here!

While EDM fervor has swept North America, many have lost sight of what the role of a DJ is all about, settling for pre-prepared playlists of what has become top 40 music. Prydz’s sets offer musical spontaneity beyond sure-fire club hits; they’re about immersion, and surrendering oneself to a DJs journey.

While Prydz may be a chart-topping, Grammy nominated producer and a stadium-filling DJ, its clear that his love for the underground and the undiscovered is what drives him. From anthemic hands-in-the-air house as Eric Prydz, to stripped back, dark European techno under his Cirez D alias, Prydz is not one to play safe. Always pushing boundaries, he strives for those magical moments where DJs create rapture in an audience while exposing them to new sounds.

Eric Prydz recently moved to the US, relocating to LA. He just announced his first ever US residency, in Las Vegas, entitled Black Dice at the Wynn.

In 2012 Eric Prydz came back to America for his first US tour in five years, headlining the amphitheater filling IDENTITY tour. At the same time he started his EPIC Radio podcast, and released the album, ‘Eric Prydz presents Pryda’, a collection of key productions under his Pryda guise, that was heralded by fans and critics alike. It was one of the few records of the year that bridged the gap between mainstream popularity and underground credibility. Prydz returned to the US in November for two sold-out Thanksgiving shows at NYC’s Roseland Ballroom, and capped the year off with a Grammy nomination for his remix of M83’s ‘Midnight City’.
