It’s quite a promise, but techno lovers across the city are not concerned. The 1605 label is experimental grounds for musicians where some of the finest and most modern sounds in techno and tech-house are brewing today. No strangers to Toronto, the headlining artists are guaranteed to bring a night of rhythmic bliss as they stop in our city as part of the 1605 Music Therapy North American tour.
So what can one expect of the 1605 Label Night? DJ sets from musical masters Umek, Pleasurekraft and Stefano Neforini in the mainroom, along with a local room where some of Toronto’s finest talent will showcase their musical genius to a deserving crowd. Among the local representation will be Subplot (Provoke), Jamie Gone (Earmilk), Ziv Gruber and The Nightowls (who have a forthcoming remix on Black Hole Recordings, and several EPs on Citrusonic, Loko Motion, and Supermarket Records), amongst others.
Being a leading force in the dance music scene in Toronto, event organizers at Provoke hope to contribute to the growth of electronic music as a whole by ensuring the Toronto audience is exposed to a full spectrum of dance music. Bringing in a1605 Label Night during the same month as large events like Bass Week, Decadence and not to mention Miami’s WMC and Ultra Music Festival, Provoke is sure to cater to the diverse and growing needs of our musically-minded city.
One piece of advice I’d give patrons of this event? Arrive early. This will be a show to remember.
