dirtybird’s Player’s are bringing the heat to their annual Miami BBQ, today announcing that iconic hip-hop trio, De La Soul, will be joining them at Villa 221, March 21st for a very special full live sunset set, and their first ever performance during Miami Music Week.

De La Soul join an already stellar line-up of dirtybird Players that includes Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, Eats Everything, Catz n Dogz, French Fries, J Philip, Worthy, Leroy Peppers, Justin Jay and more. The dirtybird Players compilation, featuring the aforementioned artists and others, will be released on iTunes March 13.

Last year in Miami, dirtybird treated fans to a very special live performance from A Tribe Called Quest’s Phife at sunset. It was a unique Miami moment, underscoring dirtybird’s deep hip-hop roots, and showcasing the booty-bass-crunk sound that runs throughout the label’s catalogue.

“I am so excited to continue where we left off last year by bringing another iconic Hip Hop group to our Miami BBQ,” said Claude VonStroke. “I think everyone will agree that De La Soul at dirtybird is not to be missed.”

As ever dirtybird will be serving up free BBQ at Villa221, courtesy of their SF grill master, flown to Miami especially for this occasion. Expect some sides of bass-driven funk and sweaty house to go with your burger.

dirtybird was birthed many years ago when the original four members, Christian Martin, Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin and Worthy, came together on a personal mission to change the landscape of San Francisco house music. They began throwing epic renegade BBQ parties in Golden Gate Park based on their unique, signature sound; booty-groovin’ house music, heavy on the bass and full of fun. A few years later, Claude VonStroke started the dirtybird label, and the dirtybird mandate was sealed.
