NEWS: Paxahau announces stage lineup for Movement Detroit 2013

The 2013 Movement Electronic Music Festival, taking place Memorial Day weekend inside Detroit’s Hart Plaza, is excited to announce Red Bull Music Academy’s move to the main stage featuring headlining performances by techno legends Richie HawtinDerrick May and Kevin Saunderson, in addition to the eclectic Squarepusher performing live.

For the past six years, Red Bull Music Academy has infused new sounds to the festival while showcasing groundbreaking artists into the scene. This year the main stage will also present unsung legends like Adult, Mala and Moodymann in addition to artists who are on the brink of making waves in the industry, including Totally Enormous Extinct DinosaursNicolas Jaar and Academy graduatesTOKiMONSTAOnraxxxyT.Williams, and Nick Hook.

 “The energy and passion that RBMA brings to the festival is unlike any other in the industry,” said Jason Huvaere, President of Paxahau, producers of the festival. “The move to the main stage will offer fans the next level of sound and lighting production, in addition to a vigorous lineup of performers.”

Yesterday, Beatport unveiled its stage lineup, including headliners MOBY performing a DJ set, Masters at Work (Kenny Dope & Louie Vega) and John Digweed. The online electronic dance music giant will mix up its footprint by moving to the east riverfront area of Hart Plaza, also known as the “pyramid” stage.

The annual Electric Forest Festival will be curating a stage alongside Paxahau for the first time ever. The EFF stage will feature an array of today’s top and up-and-coming artists in the electronic music scene, including GramatikThe M Machine – liveGRiZ and many moreAndy CBrodinski and Big Gigantic will headline.

The Movement Electronic Music Festival features: five technologically-rich outdoor stages; more than 115 artists; free Wi-Fi access on the grounds; a posh VIP setting located behind the main stage; dozens of official afterparties; an interactive technology center featuring the hottest gear in the industry; and several art displays to stimulate the senses.
