Grammy-nominated artist and globally acclaimed producer/DJ Paul Van Dyk (PvD) recently launched PvD TV, a weekly format that gives a behind-the-scenes and intimate look of tour life with Paul Van Dyk across the globe. In the first episode PvD stopped in Doha, Qatar and Kriens, Switzerland. Up next, PvD explores the cultures of Seoul, South Korea and Tokyo, Japan by taking a visit to the local markets, attending a sumo wrestling match, and playing to some of the most passionate crowds in the world.

Last year, through his sixth artist album Evolution, electronic music pioneer Paul Van Dyk changed up perceptions of the ‘PvD sound’ in a big way. Over the course of 2012, the critically acclaimed album spawned five singles, an epic, globe-circling 150+ date tour, sustained fan and press veneration (including the covers of Electronic Musician and DJ Times) and an ever-widening stylistic scope of DJ support. Now that the originals have been established, the time has come to let remixers get to work as VAN DYK’s evolution becomes an out-and-out revolution. Handpicked by the man himself—from the ready-to-break to the firmly established—the remixes have been assembled and are out now as (R)EVOLUTION: THE REMIXES on his own imprint Vandit. The offering encompasses 16 fresh-off-the-desk reworkings from a full company of VAN DYK’s fellow production studionauts. Also included is the radio edit of Such A Feeling ft. Austin Leeds and vocalist Elijah King, a remake of the instrumental Verano that has never been available in North America before.

PvD has been ranked the world’s No. 1 DJ by DJ Magazine’s “Top 100 DJs” poll two times, something less than a handful of DJs have ever achieved. Other releases include VOLUME in 2009, an album of his best works to date—encompassing selections from his previous albums 45 RPM (1994), Seven Ways (1996), Out There And Back (2000), the Grammy-nominated Reflections (2003) and In Between (2007). He continues to rank firmly in the Top 10 among electronic dance artists with over 868,000 Twitter followers and 2.5 million Facebook fans. His popular radio show VONYC Sessions can be heard on iHeartRadio’s Trancid Channel in the U.S. and over 50 stations worldwide. In 2011, Rolling Stone tapped him as one of the 50 Top Tweeters in Music and can be followed at @paulvandyk.

Catch Paul Van Dyk later this month when he will be here for Digital Dreams.
