TRACKS: HIIO put a tech house spin on Afrojack’s “Esther”

Ortzy and Nico Hamuy of HIIO (pronounced H20) surprise us with their new dark remix of Afrojack‘s Esther. Typically not HIIO’s style, the South American duo take a different approach on the remix with a tech house sound. At seven minutes and three seconds, this remix takes you on a tech house journey right into a state of groove.

The original track has the typical bleepy Afrojack sound to it, however, Afrojack also went another route creating this minimal track, while keeping “Afrojack” elements to it. Afrojack is known for using high-pitched synth noises, which are often referred to as the ‘Dirty Dutch’ sound. HIIO transformed Esther into a tech house anthem, removing the bleepy Afrojack sound, creating an HIIO twist.

The kind of track you’d expect to hear at SPACE Miami up on the terrace, HIIO’s Dark Mix of Esther takes you right back to the nostalgia of Miami Music Week SPACE marathons.

The new South American powerhouse HIIO are grabbing the attention of the international dance community at the speed of sound and this take on the mighty Afrojack’s monster Esther track will push them to new boundaries and the support of the full EDM scene.
