Avalon debuted in 2003 with a massive opening night featuring the legendary Paul Oakenfold. Ten years on, over 500 Saturday nights and a million club goers later, Avalon welcomes Paul back to our decks on Saturday, November 2, 2013, to mark the venue’s first decade and ignite a new celebration. Stay tuned for more information to come!
Over the course of the next twelve months Avalon will roll out several initiatives to celebrate the past decade, and usher in an exciting new phase in the club’s life. An extensive upgrade of Avalon Hollywood will be unveiled in the coming months, including a brand new state of the art “Avalon by EAW” Sound System. In addition, Avalon will open a new 25,000 square foot location in San Diego, cementing its position as the West Coast’s most pre-eminent nightclub brand.

1735 Vine Street has always been a storied venue since it first opened its doors in the 1920’s, through the years it has hosted the likes of Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra, The Beatles’ first West Coast gig, Duran Duran, Madonna, Prince, The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, The Beastie Boys – musical royalty of all tropes.
Today as EDM takes center stage in America, Avalon continues to exert a magical appeal for performers. Since opening in 2003 the biggest names in the dance world have been drawn to its hallowed decks. Tiesto, Swedish House Mafia, Martin Solveig, Eric Prydz, Danny Tenaglia, Claude VonStroke, Paul Van Dyk, Pete Tong and Major Lazer, as well as the fast rising EDM stars of Skrillex, Calvin Harris, Zedd, Dada Life, Krewella, Rusko and Porter Robinson have all put the Avalon crowd through their paces. Icons like Sasha and John Digweed have released mix CDs taken from sets recorded at Avalon and Markus Schulz included a live track from Avalon on his latest album.
