His sound noticed a marked change, moving from progressive house to minimal and techno. At its core, Dubfire’s productions are known for their dark, rhythmic basslines. In the case of Emissions (released in 2007), a dark rhythmic bassline is all that is required to propel a track to stardom and get club goers bouncing for hours on end. One unique aspect about Dubfire is that, although he has changed his sound, as many artists have over their career, he still manages to work in characteristics of the progressive house sound that brought him to the pinnacle of the music industry, as is illustrated by the sultry vocals, complex melodies and build ups in I Feel Speed. Dubbed the prince of darkness, Dubfire’s set’s take the listener through a journey into the darkness, through unique niches of sound that are a product of Dubfire’s creativity and addiction to technology, and finally to a gentle, satisfying release that’ll leave you satiated, but forever craving more.
