TRACK REVIEW: Slick Shoota’s “F Dat” out for free on Mad Decent by Montana McGiverin

Mad Decent just released one of their newest tracks by Slick Shoota on label extension, Jeffrees. F Dat showcases one of the most unique sounds in dance music, referred to as “juke” and features vocals from Purple. The track is free for download off of Mad Decent’s website here.

Slick Shoota’s real name is Marius Mevold and hails from Norway, with a talent for creating some of the most soulful, bass-driven juke and footwork in the game. He’s had releases on Mad Decent and Kitsune and has also received support from many other artists by being featured in their BBC Radio 1 mixes and more.

F Dat is one of the freshest tracks I’ve heard in a long time. It has that small hip-hop influence while keeping the hard-hitting juke sound alive throughout the entire song. The vocals by Purple match perfectly, with just enough soul to keep you engaged to the beat. Truly a piece of work from Mad Decent and Slick Shoota – I’m excited to see what’s next for this guy!
