It’s true when they say that you don’t mind seeing the good ones multiple times. This would definitely apply for Adrian Lux as this is my 3rd time seeing him in a year, to the exact date. Both of the previous events were at The Hoxton so I was curious to see him in a change of environment. Friday, December 20th saw him bring his Wild Child tour to Toronto with a stop at Maison Mercer. Needless to say, he didn’t disappoint! There’s something about Adrian’s style that has me constantly on the dance floor. Although he plays his staples that people are waiting for, such as Teenage Crime, Damaged, and Wild Child, he still delivers all of the other crowd-pleasers that keep arms in the air including Empire of the SunDNA, Lana Del ReyYoung & Beautiful, Nicky Romero & KrewellaLegacy,  and AlessoIf I Lose Myself.  Playing for an hour-and-a-half, he had a perfect interaction with the crowd, and looked like he was having fun jumping on top of stage to look at the dance floor, and shaking hands with many women propped up on their friends’ shoulders to get a better look.

The vibe at Maison Mercer was incredible, and considering the bottle service Saturday night stigma that I was prepared for, it was none of that. Easy entry, great attitudes, and it was quite easy to get up to the bar for a drink. The DJ booth is positioned in a perfect spot for spectators to watch as the DJ gives off energy and spins. I was definitely up there for a large portion of my night!

As this was the last weekend before Christmas, the venue was decorated very festively with snow flakes and other winter themes. This later struck me as ironic for the storm that took place in Toronto over the weekend.

Audien was also on the line-up. The first time I ever saw him spin was this past summer at Tomorrowland, and it ended up being one of my main-stage highlights. He played an equally great set to Lux, but didn’t outshine the headliner. The crowd seemed to respond in excitement for his most current radio track Circles.

Check out his Tomorrowland 2013 set below!

Another all-round quality night in Toronto!! Unfortunately, since I was not the one driving to the event, I missed out on Andy Ares, Kurtbradd, and special guests Moniz & Martinez, D3FF AKTEC.  I would like to thank Embrace and Project O for bringing back the talented Adrian Lux and Audien.
