On February 15, 2014 Ryze, commonly known for its techno events, has played one of their first trance events. The night was jam packed with top tier trance talent, including the likes of Ronski Speed and Stoneface and Terminal who were joined by local trance phenomenons, Saad Ayub and Greg Baranov.

Ronny Schneider, or Ronski Speed, is a German trance producer whose career started in 1997. Ronski Speed’s sound has been influenced by the likes of Paul van Dyk, The Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode and Chicane. Ronski Speed’s soothing style oozes positivity, as the vocalists he works with bring forth the emotion that is characteristic of trance. It is no coincidence that Ronski Speed and Stoneface and Terminal have been booked together, as they have worked together and remixed tracks numerous times in the past. Some of their work includes, Soulseeker, Incognition/Drowning Sunlight, Alive (Ronski Speed and Stoneface and Terminal Remix), and most recently, I Didn’t Know I Was Looking for Love.

Stoneface and Terminal are a German trance duo. They have been active in the electronic music scene since the late 90s as Terminal and Terminal East. Over the years, several members of their original 5 member group defected, causing them to reinvent themselves until finally arriving at Stoneface and Terminal in 2005. Stoneface and Terminal are best known for tracks such as Don’t Give a Fuck, Moment, Leaving Earth, Venus and Blueprint.

Last but not least, Saad Ayub and Greg Baranov, are well-respected trance DJs and producers in their own right. Both are very familiar with each other having worked together on several tracks such as Catharsis. Saad Ayub has his own podcast, Tranced Podcast, which can be found on his Soundcloud page. Additionally, Saad has been very influential in building and maintaining the trance scene both in Toronto and in his home country of Bangladesh, where he was a resident at the Ministry of Sound World Tours. Greg Baranov has coined his own distinctive style characterized by pounding basslines and melodic breakdowns. Baranov’s productions have been supported by several high profile trance artists such as Guiseppe Ottaviani and Arnej.

With all of this trance talent, Ryze will be bursting at the seams with emotion, positivity and love that will surely be in the air that weekend.

This is a 19+ event.
