Bristol’s KOAN Sound once again offer impeccable production as a conduit for spiritual awakening with their forthcoming “Dynasty” EP, set to be released April 1^s^t, 2014 via OWSLA. Drawing on atmospheric nuances explored on last year’s lush “Sanctuary” EP (a collaboration with Nigerian vocalist Asa) this four-track collection finds the duo of Will Weeks and Jim Bastow arriving at an evolved take on their signature funkstep. Ambient soundscapes underlay interwoven retrofuturism of glitch and 70s funk, grounding the package in the organic. There is an inherent religiosity in the interplay between past and future as well as man-made and nature.
