“I spent countless hours listening through demos but only wound up signing four tracks for this unique package,” says Epsilon. “I feel very fortunate to be working with such amazingly talented artists from three different corners of the globe. Although we each lead very different lives, our love for music has brought us together, and nothing could be more inspiring or profound.”
The first track is by Chris Gavin, a French artist making his debut on the label with a smooth and sexy song called Kosetsu. Based in Marseilles, he explores deep house, progressive and dark techno sounds as a producer and label manager for RPO Records and Ephémères Records, also contributing to Alola and SexOnWax.
Next up is The Conclusion, an entrancing collaboration between Darin Epsilon and fellow LA producer Jonty Pretzer (a.k.a. DeeProgressV). This is the first time these two producers have worked together and we hope they continue to do so in the future, as this melodic masterpiece perfectly captures the future sounds of 2014.
After that, we have another Perspectives debut from a Mexican duo, Hugo Ibarra & Uvo. They’ve collaborated on a dark and hypnotic track, Dismissed, which takes you on an intense journey through heavy beats and captivating rhythms. Expect to hear a lot more from them in the coming year.
Coming next is Trouw by JimiJ, an Australian producer who first appeared on Perspectives in 2013. Named after the famous Dutch nightclub, this spellbinding melodic track is perfect for those afterhours dancefloors.
Finally, we have Voyager by Kastis Torrau, the famous Lithuanian producer and winner of the Sasha and Burn Studios remix competition. This tech house track is a strong end to the sampler, full of energy and driving beats with a haunting vocal overlay.
The WMC Sampler is a seductive start to the new season and a taste of what lies ahead in the world of progressive house. Epsilon, recently named as one of the “30 DJs To Watch in 2014” by VIBE Magazine, will be in Miami alongside D:FUSE for the Return to Lost Angelos 11th anniversary showcase on the 28th.
