The collaboration between Gareth Emery (British trance/progressive producer and owner of Garuda Music) and Krewella, (American dubstep/electro/house trio) entitled Lights and Thunder, has been given a fresh update with a remix from Omnia.

The original big room influenced track was first seen on Krewella’s debut album “Get Wet”, released back in September 2013. Now, six months later, we revisit the track via a remix from Ukranian trance producer Omnia (real name Evgeny Smirnov), a 26 year-old who has been slowly gaining musical recognition over the past few years.

The trance-like twist Omnia has applied to this song seems to be well thought-out. The trademark “8-bit” Gareth Emery sound, heard only at the beginning of the original track, is brought under the spotlight in the remix as the main melodic element. And the remix’s overall sound is much more melody-oriented, and less focused on the powerful snares and big-room bass of the original.

Currently an artist under Armada Music, Omnia is certainly going places. With a recent stop at Toronto’s Toika Lounge, he is now continuing to tour in Europe and Asia.

Listen to Lights and Thunder (Omnia Remix), released on Garuda Music, and if you like it, buy the track on Beatport.
