TRACKS: MOODY GOOD RELEASES NEW SINGLE “MUSICBX”

Hailing from London, where he is part of Chase and Status‘s legendary MTA crew, Moody Good has unveiled plans to release another signature amalgam of his lush electronic alchemy with his newest single Musicbx, out via OWSLA. The monumental track features vocals from Eryn Allen Kane and leads in with a soft piano melody, while creeping and complimenting bass and drum lines build up to a crescendo. Moody Good is the solo act of Eddie Jefferys, formerly one half of the acclaimed duo 16bit. Jefferys has highlighted his production chops on cuts from artists ranging from Foreign Beggars to Plan B, and has also provided additional production on Chase and Status’s Gangsta Boogie VIP.

The “Moody Good” LP is slated for a June 3rd, 2014 release via OWSLA and boasts an impressive fifteen tracks that defy to be restricted by the limits of a single genre. The album opens with ambient jazz before leading into the glitch-hop anthem that is Grumbles n Sparkles. The musical journey of the recording then turns soothing with several downtempo tracks before coming back with hard-hitting hip hop and distorted jazz. This genre-melding continues throughout the LP, exploring the boundaries between hip hop, ambient, downtempo and even heavier UK Bass styles, as heard in Hotplate. Moody Good stands proudly as a vanguard at an important evolution in dance music, shying away from a single sound and incorporating a full spectrum of aural possibility, that only the brave and innovative are able to master.
