Electric Island Concert and Picnic Series is back for another summer season, on Toronto’s own Centre Island. Monday, May 19th, 2014 – Victoria Day, will mark the 2014 debut of the concert and picnic series events. The first installment will see the likes of Sven Väth, Mano Le Tough and Daniel Avery.  Electric Island is fully licensed and will feature international and local talent overlooking Toronto’s waterfront and skyline. Travel to the island via ferry, and after a short walk come to your final destination, a tree covered groove to dance the night away! This will set the tone and kick off the long awaited warm weather and the summer season!

Sven Väth, Godfather of Techno, will be headlining the first series with an extended sunrise set. Known in the underground scenes in Germany and Ibiza cultivating his own night at Amensia (Ibiza) and many creative after-parties on the island. Not one to shy away from spreading the talent in the scene he helped launch the careers of Loco Dice, Martin Buttrich, Roman Flügel, and Guy Gerber. With unparrelled energy, we should expect nothing but an education by Väth in the world of techno.

Mano Le Tough aka Niall Mannion hails from Greystones, Ireland but currently resides in Berlin. His monthly party, Passion Beat was a huge success that Le Tough has been booked in the best clubs around the world including Panorama Bar, Trouw and Robert Johnson. Recently released Ducks, recently released has been making the rounds online.

Daniel Avery, London based producer/DJ, has developed a raw, robust sound that incorporates his love for odd, alien elements. Avery was inspired after a trip to Ibiza, watching the crowd dance and sway to the music. Dabbing in a wide range of electronic styles, from acid house to IDM, Avery plays a blend of sounds to dance the night away. Taking inspiration from Chemical Brothers and Underworld, his first solo album “Drone Logic” is a throw back to the minimalist and pays homage to the New Jersey garage sound.
