PREVIEW: Escapade Music Festival in Ottawa June 28, 29, 30 and July 1 by Natalia Toussaint

My hometown, Ottawa, Canada, is bringing the rukus once again with the fifth installment of Escapade Music Festival. This year will be bigger than ever with a multitude of events happening throughout the festival. Not only is the two days festival taking place at a new location with new features (hello camping!,) but the night of July 30, five different club series will be taking place throughout the city and to top it all off, the last day of the festival is Escapade Does O’ Canada with headliners Dada Life. Whew! This will be a Canada Day weekend to remember!

Saturday June 28, 2014: Day 1 – Escapade Music Festival

It’s the fifth year, and it must be huge for the festival as DNA Presents is partnering with The New Hot 89.9, Casino de Lac-Leamy, Circus Afterhours, Drysdale and Smart Set to bring you something never before seen in the Nation’s Capital Region. 5 stages with a two days of dancing and will be filled little bit of everything for the mutli-genre and sub-genre music lover.

Who I am most excited to see: Chuckie, Dzeko and Torres and Andrew Rayel.

Sunday June 29, 2014: Day 2 – Escapade Music Festival

You will more than likely find me at the Temple of Bass stage all day but I may pop to the main stage to see Carnage. Tech Fusion Tent has some artists I keep missing when they come to Toronto, including Pleasurekraft and Nicole Moudaber.

Monday June 30, 2014: Day 3 – Club Series

In addition to this year’s festival Escapade will be hosting 5 Club series featuring headliners Alex Metric, Victor Calderone, Simon Patterson, Figure and Borgeous/Stafford Brothers at various venues through the city. Don’t miss an opportunity to see these talented artists in intimate settings showing us what they do best! I will be at Babylon Nightclub seeing Figure, come find me?

Tuesday July 1, 2014: Day 4 – Escapade does O’Canada

151 George street will be home for Escapade does O’Canada. Joining Dada Life is Project 46, GTA, Ariyan, Vito V, Domeno, Frathouse Music, Stefano Lasne and Mayro. Celebrate Canada’s birthday surrounded by the infamous Nation’s Capital celebrations. Watch the fire works from the Parliament buildings after dusk and dance the night away in Ottawa’s market neighbourhood.

Attending this festival is five years in the making! I will finally have the chance to experience Escapade for myself and see how the hometown crew celebrates rave culture! Many of the artists at Escapade are also playing Digital Dreams in Toronto. If you are attending Digital Dreams and still don’t have plans for Canada Day, why not come to the Nation’s Capital and dance your heart out a little bit more? Tickets are still available for all festival events and series!
