Justin James will release a 4 pack EP on his newly launched record label refused. on May 20, 2014. The EP – titled “Not The Curator” features 4 of Justin’s highly acclaimed techno stormers: Not The Curator, Inquire Within, Absolutely Necessary and Who’s Your Friend. It’s a record label debut and showcase of what Justin’s new imprint refused. will feature in the future.
Not The Curator – has an unique character and infectious groove. With a persistent sense of urgency and modulated bassline, Not The Curator sucks you into its hypnotizing vortex right from the get-go.
Inquire Within – An intro which starts off with a strong bassline merging into trippy vocals which you can’t seem to understand – but works. Making it a mysterious journey throughout the dark techno record. Engaging effects and sounds make this record the perfect track for a dark warehouse party, keeping it super underground.
Absolutely Necessary – Futuristic sounds which take you to another galaxy make Absolutley Necessary – absolutely necessary. Wobbly, dreamy effects fade in and out as the atmosphere grows in tension, and the track’s dark underbelly reveals itself.
Who’s Your Friend – A perfect representation of the sound Justin produces, with its marching, military-esque percussion and stomping bass.
