The German trance duo known as Cosmic Gate will be performing aboard the M.V. Abitibi on Saturday July 5 for what is sure to be an unforgettable sunset yacht party. The trance fanatic in me could not be any more excited. This event promises to be quite the ride, as it is to be a “Sunset Yacht Party” off the coast of beautiful British Columbia. With that kind of scenery (the ocean and the stars!) and the cosmological sound that Nic Chagall and DJ Bossi are known for; it promises to the be the type of night that will “wake your mind” – and the pun is totally intended!
Cosmic Gate was formed in 1999 and since then has released consistent tracks that have resulted in countless danceable nights. They label themselves “Progressive Trance” but I think that their history speaks of being a little more broad than that. Some of my favourites include: Firewire, Under Your Spell and Be Your Sound. Cosmic Gate has an uncanny ability to create unique vocal trance, usually with the innovative usage of vocalists such as Emma Hewitt and Orjan Nilsen.
Their most recent tour, Start To Feel, will hit Toronto on August 13 so get your tickets early, as the the tickets for the Cosmic Gate & Friends Sunset Yacht Party in Vancouver sold out quickly. The tour is to promote their latest album of the same name, released by Armada Music.
The boat party will likely be a taste of what the anticipated upcoming Start To Feel tour will be like. And to their credit, the trance pair seems to be quite Social Media savvy as fans and event-goers alike can use their promoted hashag: #starttofeel to upload pictures and updates from the tour.
