EVENT PREVIEW: Jorn Van Deynhoven and Boom Jinx at Maison Mercer 11-07-14 by Rory Harrison

Finally! It seems like we have had to wait quite a while for this musical technician to grace our hallowed shores but finally popular ASOT alumni Jorn Van Deynhoven will make his Toronto debut. The Vibrations crew have pulled some strings and on Friday July 11 at their home base Maison Mercer, Jorn along with Boom Jinx, Saad Ayub and Kris Morton will take the decks and throw down some feels for the trance family.

Boom Jinx is an interesting booking. He has been heavily involved with music production since the early 90’s but only really started releasing on electronic music labels in the mid 2000’s. Since then he has grown into one of the most popular names on the massive Anjunabeats’ roster. Expect some innovative progressive trance as well as some favourites like his smash hit When You Loved Me with Maor Levi.

Part German, part Dutch, and based in Amsterdam. JVD has been making waves in the trance scene since around 2007. Another heavyweight in the progressive scene, but with a penchant for the occasional foray into uplifting trance, we can expect a bit more straightforward of a trance set from him. He has the amazing track Headliner (ASOT Top 20 in 2012) under his belt. Perhaps his biggest accomplishment to date, and a huge reason why Toronto is in for a treat on this night, is his winning entry into Armin Van Buuren‘s ASOT 650 Anthem contest, entitled New Horizons. He also has quite a few tasty remixes of fan favourites so this is one not to miss.

A massive track we can expect to assault our ears on this night is his soaring remix of Craig Connelly’s Black Hole.

As if these two debuts weren’t enough to get our collective trance juices flowing, opening for these international stars is two rising Toronto talents. Already entrenched deep in the hearts of our trance community as crowd favourites, Saad Ayub and Kris Morton will kick this night off in style. Saad will be fresh off an appearance at Digital Dreams as well! This event will sell out quick (as many debuts do) so be sure to get your tickets ASAP!
