When:Friday June 13, Doors @ 11p.m. Where: The Hoxton, 69 Bathurst Street, Toronto, Ontario
Next week, Embrace presents:Kygo all the way from Norway, as we get ready for some melodic and chill vibes at the Hoxton’s Focus Friday event. Recently featured on BBC’s Diplo and Friends podcast, Kygo is blowing up with his most popular remix of Marvin Gaye’sSexual Healing which will have you screaming the lyrics despite how old yet retro the original may be.
I personally discovered Kygo from his Cut Your Teeth Remix, originally by Kyla La Grange. All of his tracks carry his signature of percussion instruments like the xylophone, African drums, and happy melodies on top. His sounds will teleport you to a tropical warm place leaving all your worries behind, and I can’t wait for the Hoxton’s sound to be transformed into something so unique and out of the ordinary.
If you haven’t heard of Kygo before, I highly recommend starting with his BBC Radio Mix, and he makes sure to include all his best tunes with smooth transitions. And if you’re suddenly won over by Kygo, I recommend arriving at the Hoxton early on Friday as tickets are no longer available online and there will be a limited amount at the door! I can promise you that the next time Kygo comes through Toronto, he’ll be a lot more popular and tickets will probably be a bit pricier. See you there!
