After a three year hiatus, Time Festival makes its triumphant return. Presented by Embrace and Red Bull, Time will be taking place at Fort York Commons, also the venue for past events such as Full Flex Express Tour, Mad Decent Block Party and Riot Fest. The one day festival saw previous artists including Crystal Castles, Soulwax, Diplo, A-Trak and many others, grace their stage.

This year’s lineup brings some variety to the primarily electronic artists who have played Time before. Headlining this year is multi-talented Canadian artist and Juno winner Grimes. With a diverse lineup featuring solo and bands from around the world, Toronto will be graced with an afternoon unlike any other this summer. Also on the bill are trio Death Grips, an experimental hip hop group from Scaramento, California, Australian electronic instrumentalist Flume and Action Bronson, an American rapper.

This year’s lineup is one full of diversity. Something you don’t normally see at one day festivals. Embrace has been giving Toronto what they ask for and more. We are very spoiled with the number of artists who visit the city weekly. Johannesburg native St. Lucia electronic pop, Chicago band Smith Westerns, Canadian mutli-genre artist Kaytranda, electronic artist Jon Hopkins. Experimental UK Charli XCXMajical Cloudz and HAERTS round out the bill.

$25 early bird tickets have already sold out with second tier $35 tickets close to being sold out. Contact a promoter or purchase tickets from Soundscapes, Rotate This or online, here

For those who want a taste of past artists who played Time, be sure to attend the pre-party at the Hoxton, Friday July 18. Alice Glass (from Crystal Castles) will be spinning a DJ set and Chrome Sparks, Health and The Range will be joining her. Tickets are available online.
