EVENT PREVIEW: Electronic Park Music Festival 09-20-14 by Richard Granholm

Following the recent explosion of electronic music festivals in the Toronto area, Electronic Park Music Festival was created as a single-day event that has already shown huge potential in its first year. Premiering last September in Innisfil (just north of Toronto), EPMF 2013 had Cazzette, Mord Fustang, DVBBS, Dzeko & Torres, Joe Ghost, Black Tiger Sex Machine, The Sour DJ, and Stereo Bangers – quite an impressive lineup.

And while the lineup will probably be impressive again this year, what sets this festival apart from it’s larger Toronto-area counterparts is the size: a couple of thousand people will be in attendance, making the experience more intimate and positive for everyone.

This year’s artist announcements are:
Black Tiger Sex Machine

Hailing from Montreal, this mask-wearing trio delivers dirty, rock-inspired electro. They are currently working on a new live show that combines DJing and performance – check out a preview below.

Stereo Bangers

The Stereo Bangers hail from our beloved Toronto. Expect lots of big room and electro from these DJs, with maybe even some hip-hop to switch up the mood. If you love bangers, listen to one of their mixes:

Jason Farquhar

From Alliston, Ontario, Jason is heavily into tech house and techno grooves. Check out one of his funky SoundCloud sets:

That’s all the talent announced for now, but stay tuned as we update the page once more information becomes available.

Also performing at EPMF will be the ladies of bRAVE Entertainment, a group of go-go dancers with a more edgy look. While making dancers more commonplace at bass events is a priority, owner Stefi Lynn Kalaitzidis and her team have successfully performed at numerous types of events since forming less than a year ago. At last year’s EPMF, the team not only performed, but dressed up as pixies and interacted with the crowd – expect to see the pixies out and about this year as well!
