KEVIN CASTRO – “CAPSULE” EP
RECORD LABEL – refused.
RELEASE DATE – September 2, 2014
#CAPSULE

“Talented” is just one-way to describe the 21 year old DJ/Producer from Miami, Kevin Castro. This kid has got such an idiosyncratic style in his productions, which will instantly attract listeners. In his 4-piece EP “Capsule” out now on refused., you can witness a sound so new and unique it can simply be coined “The Kevin Castro sound” in minimal techno.

Each track in “Capsule” gives off a different energy and experience that all together is a masterfully good time. The first track Capsule has an ominous intro, which leads you into an explosion of triggering sounds, and effects that are hypnotic and infectious. Prism has heightened energy and takes you through a few different dimensions in this track. Its distortive qualities are much like a view through as prism glass. Nowledge is packed with gripping basslines and winding synths that unravel a track so unique to Kevin Castro’s sound. Lastly, Moleq really encompasses the deep dark and minimal style Kevin Castro attacks in his productions. With a motley collection of elements, this track has all the ingredients for a perfect minimal track.
