On Sunday September 21, Activate & CODA proudly present the last edition of the Beats Ahoy! Boat Cruise. In this last run across the lake they are most definitely going for broke folks. The line up is stacked with local legends, the forecast is calling for good sailing weather, and it’ll be pumping out the great tunes and good vibrations from noon till late so theres no excuse to miss out on an event such as this.
Headlining the event are The Guvernment’s resident DJs Manzone & Strong. This particular DJ duo have been killing dancefloors all across Toronto for more a decade and you’d be hard pressed to find a club-goer nowadays that hasn’t messed their pants during one of their beautifully crafted sets and loved the experience. They’ve also held residencies at Cabana, This is London and The Boom Boom Room in Windsor and that keeping the list short. When you see these maestros giving their all to you via the CDJ shock treatment we all crave so much you’ll understand why.
This next performer is in my opinion THE hardest working and arguably the most loved DJ in the city and his name is Deko-Ze. He is the co-owner of Jungle Funk Records and he has been voted Toronto’s Best DJ by many magazines. With his unique blend of technical skills & overflowing charisma while on the decks is the reason he is so well received locally, as well as abroad. Fresh from a recent tour of clubs in Germany, Deko-Ze is here to rock the boat & make some waves with all of us on this final summer’s end edition of Beats Ahoy!
This guy is also a virtuoso when it comes to getting the crowd pumped up and his name is Jonathan Rosa. I’ve personally seen this man destroy CODA Nightclub alongside some wonderful acts and his semi-regular sets at Comfort Zone are nothing to sneeze at either. Like his last name suggests, the sounds that come out of the speakers while he is in command has dancers seeing the world through rose-colored sunglasses, its just beautiful. I’m well past excited to see what he has in store for us all on this very special night.
There are many more acts just waiting to tantalize your eardrums with the promise of auditory nirvana that is sure to be achieved. If you love boats, beautiful weather, bangin’ house music and a rockin’ good time then this summer’s end version of Beats Ahoy! Don’t be a victim of FOMO (feeling of missing out).
