TRACK REVIEW: Alex Sonata – Hybrid by Amrit Sandhu

Alex Sonata, the DJ and producer, hails from Edinburgh, Scotland. Alex came to the attention of Garuda after he remixed Shiloh’s Man In The Mirror in 2013, which became one of Gareth Emery’s biggest tracks of the year in his live sets. His first single Silex was supported by the likes of Tiësto, Armin Van Buuren, Alex M.O.R.P.H.  and Paul Van Dyk. It was Mr. van Dyk that ended up licensing this single to his “VONYC Sessions Selection” compilation. Alex Sonata followed up with an EP called “Remember This/Stealth”. This EP has also been supported by Gareth Emery. Alex Sonata regularly plays throughout The U.K. and is planning to bring his talents to the international scene.

Hybrid is a beautiful Trance/Progressive track that has a wonderful melody. As soon as the track starts, it’s the melody that drags you in, and it’s the builds and lifts that keep you entranced. As soon as the build up drops you are warped into a high energy beat that you just cannot stop bobbing your head to. There is a beautiful piano melody in the track which just takes you away. It has blown my mind and spirit in the beauty of this riff and then just before you think you have gotten your feet back on the ground, the music kicks right back into the beat. All you want to do is clap your hands together and dance. This song makes me envision being in the middle of a massive crowd and waving my hands.

There is another small break from the beats into another massive build up that is like fireworks. It not only blows the mind but the ears as well.  Alex Sonata has delivered one of the best tracks I have heard out of 2014 in this release. I cannot wait to hear what else he has up his sleeve, as this is fantastic. Mr. Sonata, you have made a new fan out of me. To any Trance fan, this song is a necessity. Get it now so you can rave to your friends about the pure bliss and energy.
