It’s that time of year again! BPM is coming close, as we scramble to book our flights and condos with our most favourite friends to spend 10 unforgettable days in Playa Del Carmen. Now in its 8th annual edition, from January 9-18th, 2015, BPM unveils phase 1 of the line up. With names like Lee Burridge, Apollonia, Mind Against, Solomun, DJ Tennis, Dixon, Jamie Jones, Guti, Tale Of Us, Guy Gerber, Joseph Capriati and many more, makes for a proper vibe during the 10-day festival. You’ll also notice Toronto’s own Nitin, Art Department, Nathan Barato, The Junkies, Carlo Lio, and My Favorite Robot on the bill.

Last year’s BPM brought many magical moments. One being the Innervisions Showcase at Blue Venado Beach Club, in which guests were dropped off where the road ended and taxi’s would no longer drive through. Guests walked deep into a dark road surrounded by lush vegetation for about 20 minutes. As light began to appear through the darkness and pummelling bass echoed in the distance, guests finally reach their final destination. The end results: an amazing evening which featured Dixon, AME, Mano Le Tough, Marcus Worgull and Michael Gracioppo. As the sun began to rise, guests made their way onto the beach to watch a new day begin, as Dixon hit the decks. A light mist began, which created a beautiful double rainbow. This moment in time was so amazing – being surrounded by your best friends, on the beach, with double rainbows in the sky while Dixon was playing – unforgettable.

This year, with over 75 events to choose from, artists will play both day and night, as many of the world’s respectable labels will host showcases featuring their talent.  Some of our favourites this year will be:

Paradise – An event set to take over BPM on January 14th at The Blue Venado Beach Club, will feature Hot Creations label owners Jamie Jones and Lee Foss, with Paradise favourites Steve Lawler and Eats Everything. Paradise residents Richy Ahmed and wAFF. Patrick Topping will also make an appearance. Paradise is known for their infectious vibe, bringing an energy, which can’t be compared to. You can find the Facebook event here.

InnervisionsSet to be held back at The Blue Venado once again with the sounds of Dixon, Henrick Schwarz (live), Ame, Mano Le Tough and Marcus Worgull, maybe you’ll be lucky enough to see a triple rainbow this year! You can find the Facebook event here.

UNION – Featuring Toronto’s hometown heros: Carlo Lio, The Junkies and Nathan Barato, as they go back to back to back at La Santanera on January 14, 2015. UNION is a collaborative in an effort to bring back a consistent offering of true marathon sets. You can find the Facebook event here.

10 days of world-class talent, beautiful beaches and atmospheric venues, makes BPM a festival not to be missed. Now we wait in anticipation for Phase 2 to be announced!
