Embrace presents another killer lineup for the Hoxton’s Focus Fridays event headlined by Destructo, Motez, Anna Lunoe, T. Williams, and Cosella on January 16th, 2015.
Destructo came to The Hoxton this time last year and his set was hands down amazing. Even if you’re not a fan of G-house, he will convert you into one! His set last year was retro, progressive, and had everyone feeling like we time travelled back into the early 90’s. If you’re unfamiliar with Desctructo, I highly recommend starting with his West Coast EP, as he is really famous for tracks like Party Up, which is more G-house sounding, and Dare You 2 Move, which is straight up deep house. The entire EP really grows on you, and is the perfect kind of music for partying in the big city. This Los Angeles producer has a fine taste in quality and will settle for nothing less.
Motez is a house producer from Australia, who plays a lot of future and deep house. He’s remixed tracks like What So Not’s High You Are, Justin Timberlake’s Like I Love You, and Frank Ocean’s Thinking About You. He’s supported by some of the biggest names in the game like Claude Von Stroke, Flume, J. Phlip, Disclosure, and Destructo himself. Everything this producer touches is completely transformed, and the only way you’re going to believe it is to hear it for yourself live at The Hoxton!
Anna Lunoe, also from Australia, is going to bring something different to our city, with soothing vocals and subtle deep house wubbs to keep you coming back for more. You might recognize her from the original track Bass Drum Dealer which was featured on OWSLA’s The Nest a few months ago. But she really took off with her collaboration with Flume I Met You which is super retro/future sounding. She’s got a Diplo & Friends mix on BBC Radio 1 which I recommend listening to before the show to get you pumped! Listening to all her music is getting me a lot more excited for this show than I initially anticipated.
T. Williams is a London producer with a couple solid EPs. He makes really chill deep house, and is best known for his edit of Disclosure’s track Latch. He also has a notable collab with Shadow Child on their track Want You To which is really chill house jam that can’t go unnoticed.
Toronto really is blessed to be having all these artists stop through our city on their tour, and tickets for the event are still only $15! Don’t procrastinate getting your ticket if you’re debating attending; they will go up in price the longer you wait, because the acts are worth so much more.
