Embrace and Hunter Siegel present us the second installment of the No Neon series as part of The Hoxton Saturdays. The artists are hand picked by the Dark PLUR Lord himself, and this is a lineup you won’t want to miss!
Chocolate Puma will be joining us all the way from the Netherlands, and with hot tracks like I Can’t Understand – a collaboration with Firebeatz – it would be a shame to miss this live! The duo also remixed the track Dollhouse by the up and coming pop artist Melanie Martinez, and put out a track on Dim Mak Records featuring Maikal X called RubberBand Lazer which is more hard-hitting and dirty than anything else I’ve heard by them. I’m eager to hear this track live in Toronto!
And of course Hunter Siegel himself will be playing that evening as well, and I’m really looking forward to hearing his new track Let Me Love You Right featuring Kai, along with all the other tracks he throws at us, which 75% of the time, they are so under the radar that it’s really refreshing to hear. Hunter never disappoints.
REZZ is a real treat for us. This Niagara Falls local is making a splash in the GTA EDM scene, with her industrial sounding synths; there’s no way she can go unnoticed. Her track Lucifer sounds very Gesaffelstein inspired, almost like a buzzing bee hallucinating and buzzing to a beat that’s hypnotic and contagious. I expect her to have a lot more Toronto shows after this No Neon event. I’m eager to see her the most on this lineup.
Another Toronto local shall be opening the show that evening, CARTEL. Remember how I mentioned “under the radar”? This guy takes it to a whole new level. With original tracks like Orb, which give a sci-fi disco vibe. He brings something new to the table which I’ve never quite heard before. The track is also free for download, so be sure to give it a listen and prepare yourself for the show!
