Embrace and SFX Entertainment brings us the UK based award winning festival as its debut Toronto this summer on Toronto Island! Bestival is set for June 12th & 13th, reeling in headliners Florence & the Machine and NAS, followed by many more alternative artists such as Flume, SBTRKT, Flosstradamus, Jamie xx, Cashmere Cat, Robert Delong, and so many more.
This festival has won awards for Best Major Festival (2012, 2010), Fan’s Favourite Festival (2011), and Best Medium-Sized Festival (2009, 2007, 2006 & 2005). Picture if Osheaga and Electric Forest had a carnival baby; Bestival would be it! The theme is carnival-like, and it embraces all arts and culture with welcoming arms. There will be no neon bros or bangers at this event, so be warned.
Toronto is doing something really special this year, and everyone should take advantage of not having to travel far in order to indulge in a taste of culture. This festival will feature some of the best alternative rock, alternative hip-hop, alternative electronic, and straight up alternative as well as EDM. This is where you should want to be.
Local Torontonian Hunter Siegel will also be performing at Bestival alongside so any amazing artists. If you have not seen him at his No Neon event series at The Hoxton, you definitely want to catch him playing a festival set! Seeing this guy represent Toronto so truly in the music scene and blow up over the past couple years really brings a sense of pride and I will be looking forward to his set.
