Tonight, Toronto welcomes UK’s Ant Brooks and Montreal’s Uppercut to Li’Ly Lounge with support from local favourites Jayforce, Quim & Billey Barry. This is the first in a series of celebrations hosted by Jayforce, who is throwing this party in recognition of his recently launched monthly radio show called, After Dark.

Jayforce shared that After Dark is something that he really enjoys because he gets to play for himself first. This gives him the opportunity to incorporate music he might not otherwise get the chance to play in his live sets; moments when the crowd is yearning for something specific. After Dark is a perfect representation of Jayforce’s unique style and taste in the music he loves – techno and tech-house.

Li’ly’s stage will also play host to Montreal’s DJ Uppercut, who began his career at the young age of seventeen when he brought an original and distinctive house sound to some of the city’s hottest nightclubs. He was quickly recognized for his skill and adored for his characteristic energy. In the early 2000’s, Uppercut took up residence at Complexe Millenium, while continuing to play at multiple venues around the city.

Our host, Jayforce, is a local legend. He plays in numerous clubs around Toronto and is currently holding residencies at Comfort Zone and Coda. He is working on a handful of projects that he is excited to bring forth into the techno scene both locally and internationally. With such big plans and bright ideas, he is sure to leave a mark once he’s finished. Besides working on After Dark Radio, Jayforce has two big releases coming out this Monday, March 9th, 2015. The first is a single called, What! which will be released on, Toolroom, one of the largest multi-genre labels currently operating. The other, One of Them, will be released with a remix by Italy’s The Southern on Matt Sassari’s label, Panterre Music. Over the next few months, Jay is also scheduled for 10 releases which include remix’s and EP’s on various labels.

DJ Quim is another of Toronto’s favourite locals. He plays multiple venues around the city, works with FLOH Entertainment and is most loved for his residency at Toronto’s most treasured after-hours, Comfort Zone. Quim is never one to disappoint his audience and consistently gets the entire room in motion.

quim
Originally from Seoul, Korea, Quim found his way into the Toronto party scene back in 2002 when he began as a promoter and then later made the transition to DJ in 2007. Quim learned of his taste for the underground and in 2010 began is residency at Comfort Zone. Quim is working hard to differentiate himself as an artist and his talent is well-known across the city. He’s especially excited to be playing the upcoming show on Saturday, March 14th at RYZE headlined by Len Faki.

Billey Barry is excited to be spinning his first techno only set and is honoured that Jayforce invited him to play this party. Billey is currently hosting Tuesday nights at Bassline Music Bar, located at 865 Bloor St. West, where they’ve incorporated “open decks.” This is an opportunity for new DJ’s to come and spin for an audience on a club system and see if they have what it takes to distinguish themselves in an ever-evolving scene. Over the past few weeks, Billey’s project at Bassline has been growing in support and he looks forward to getting the word out and getting to know more of the city’s upcoming talent.

It’s sure to be a good night tonight, and it’s definitely going to be crowded, so get there early to claim your dance space! These guys are excited to bring us a night to remember so let’s show them the support they deserve.
