Mark your calendars for Saturday March 7th, 2015, the much-coveted MK graces Coda Nightclub with his anticipated presence. For all who may not know who MK is, he is an American DJ and producer whom is dedicated to house and techno genres. With electronic dance music on somewhat of a downward slope when it came to being socially popular, MK, also known as, Marc Kinchen, remained silent for about a decade. Almost two years ago, MK started making dance waves deep in the scene.
For those who often attend Coda, especially for the much-coveted international artists, they would agree that this show is worth your money. Not only has MK been on somewhat of a hiatus for the past decade and a bit, I am probably most excited for the tracks he has been cooking up for his Toronto fans.
With the rebirth of the Marc Kinchen sound alongside with the help of fellow house producers like Jamie Jones and Lee Foss, we can expect a lot of the unexpected from Kinchen. MK makes up one-third of the group called Pleasure State and their songs have been welcomed as part of the re-birth of House music. He has had number 1songs on the Billboard Dance Music/Club Play Chart with songs such as, Love Changes and Always.
On this night, my prediction is that we hear MK’s older sounds from the mid-90’s era with a more modern tempo. As the night makes its return to dawn, I expect MK to unleash some wicked remixes of current popular house and techno tracks. These are incredibly ideal for the Coda crowd. Then as the crowd thins out, I predict MK will toss out some unreleased music that the clubs will all be banging.
Folks, this is not a night to miss. The fear of missing out will be strong for this is the first time in years that MK has played a show, let alone a North American tour!
