Embrace and Hunter Siegel present Toronto with another unbelievable lineup composed of the best dark house artists currently in the scene. If you are familiar with Toronto nightlife, then you’ve probably heard the track that took off months ago by Hannah Wants in collaboration with Chris Lorenzo,Rhymes. This track samples Daft Punk’s Technologic but gives it new life in the current tech spectrum of EDM. Anna Lunoe opened with this track a few months ago at the Hoxton for Destructo’s Ship 2 Ship tour. Now, we get the pleasure of Hannah Wants headlining the same venue, and sharing the stage with our very own Hunter Siegel! If you’re unfamiliar with Hannah Wants, I highly suggest listening to any of her mixtapes on SoundCloud, as they are purely amazing.
Cosella is a local Torontonian who makes dark g-house beats. Handpicked by Hunter himself, Cosella’s tracks have the quality of Destructo with a hint of hip-hop while still maintaining an excited level of interest. Cosella was recently featured on the OWSLA’s, The Nest, for the new remix of Rhyme’s track, Time 2 Bump. I’m hoping to hear this track live for the show! It’s a really good feeling to support your local DJ’s and watch them take off. It’s an even better feeling when you recognize their tracks.
Bobby Love will be opening the evening and setting the tone with house beats all night long. He was recently featured on Armada Deep’s SoundCloud for his track, The Way You Love. This is super melodic and sounds like euphoric deep house, which is a refreshing change from the progressive and tech-house trend. Bobby Love tends to bring out the retro chords and lets the music speak for itself. Very little vocals are needed to make his music stick to your brain. He’s also got some tracks like All Night Long that will make you want to shuffle uncontrollably.
Hunter Siegel is on top of his game right now, bringing in the most influential international and local house artists that cater to a mature type of crowd who’s main passion is music. The last No Neon was sold out and felt alike to revisiting Guvernment’s sardine can of a dancefloor, so there’s no telling how packed this upcoming No Neon night will be. It will be the last one until the summer so now’s your chance to see Hunter do what he does best until then.
