With Bestival’s overseas baptism fast approaching this coming June 12-13 on Toronto Island, we have news of all our loving little touches that make it so much more than just a festival. From bubble blowing brilliance to awesome acrobatics, this is a taste of how Bestival takes you beyond the music.

We’ve got lots of out of this world attractions lined up for Toronto, including our world-renowned inflatable church, yarn bombing, amazing carnival bands, incredible dancers and acrobats and loads more stuff all waiting to be discovered. So come along and get stuck in with us. See you down the front!”
We’ll have all manner of mayhem going on including madness from Newmindspace, the creators of International Pillow Fight Day, who will be ambushing the unsuspecting with Bubble Battle Flash Mobs, plus we’ll have an enchanting troupe of otherworldly dancers, The Mystical Eclipse Clan, holding court at the Bollywood Temple and dancing around the rest of Bestival spreading their glitter-strewn love and magic.
Check out The Mini-Bindi Adventure-Box featuring a bindi-distributing mermaid princess who may just bless you with one of her extra-special aquatic & chakra-o-matic lucky bindi charms. And join in at the craft-tastic Knitting Tent & Yarn Bombing with knitting workshops by Toronto’s Knit-O-Matic, creating woollen wonders for local charity Streetknit.
Breathing life into the soul of Bestival, The Dress Up Tent hosted by Toronto’s favourite vintage store, 69 Vintage, is sure to have those off-the-wall threads you forgot to bring. And if you really want to go costume-crazy, Canada’s largest costume and party supply store Amazing.ca, will be on site with their Amazing Costume Pop Up Shop, to make sure you’ve got your fancy dress look down because you never know when you’re going to be invited to a wedding at the legendary Bestival Inflatable Church, the epitome of blow-up brilliance.
They will also have a uniquely designed immersive lounge – the Wellness Tent – where you can book a restorative time out spa experience, our fantastic Day of the Dead Art – Bus Margarita Bar & Area, some really incredible Day Of The Dead Body Painting, all serenaded by incredible mariachi band Mexico De Noche, acrobatics and yoga from Acro Buddhas, high energy ‘hostesses’-with-the-mostesses’ – The True Blue Love Crew, our dazzling Costume Parade, which you’re welcome to join if you’re all dressed up, and the vividly multicoloured traditional Mas band Carnival Revolution. Plus there will be performance art from Meow Mur The Cosmic Cat, rhythm joy from the MaracaTALL Stilt Drumming Troupe, oriental mystery from Lion Dance & The Falun Dafa Waist Drum Team and The Peace Beach Meditation by the Falun Dafa Group.
There’s gonna be so much incredible entertainment going on that you could spend all weekend long having fun, so don’t forget we get amazing music from Florence + the Machine, Nas, Flume, Caribou, SBTRKT (DJ), Banks and more, all at Hanlan’s Point Beach, Toronto Island on June 12th and 13th, 2015.
