This Canada Day, Hanlan’s Point will swell with sound as party-goers leave the city in rear-view and ride the waves to the second event of 2015 hosted by the Electric Island series. After successfully celebrating their launch with over 7,000 attendees and featuring the styles of Tuskegee (Seth Troxler B2B Martinez Brothers), Pan-Pot, Steve Lawler and Tom Trago, the shores of the island promise another excitement-packed event. Sasha, Marcel Dettmann, Lee Foss and Dennis Ferrer will hit the decks with local support from Jeff Button, Jonathan Rosa and Greg Gow, so pack a picnic and prepare yourselves for another unforgettable experience!

This edition of Electric Island will be headlined by UK’S Sasha, who has carved his name on the electronic music scene with his label Last Night On Earth. His style is progressive and expansive – an expression of depth paired with eloquent transitioning. Check out his track Ether to hear Sasha’s sound.

Marcel Dettmann will hit the decks with a deeper vibe using heavy kicks and low-frequency basslines. Visiting Toronto from Berlin, Germany, he is sure to give us a feel of true techno culture. I like his remix of Damon Wild’s Avion. Give it a listen below.

Los Angeles’ Lee Foss will entrance the island with deep funk, house, techno, soul, and disco-influenced beats. His sound will make for excellent lounging while enjoying the island sunshine. Check out his track U Make Me Shy.

Objektivity owner Dennis Ferrer will get the party moving on July 1st with his groovy rhythms and high energy style. Expect catchy vocals and a lot of head-bobbing while you sip your drink in the sunshine. I like his remix of London Grammar‘s, Sights. Check out the preview below.

The island will also see support from local favourites Jeff Button, Jonathan Rosa and Greg Gow. If you’re yet to check out these three then you’ve likely been living beneath a rock – they’ve been firing up their sound all over the city with ever-increasing support from the dance communities. The island will bump and sway to the 4/4 love these guys have in store so don’t forget your shuffling shoes!
