TRACK REVIEW: Jantsen x Dirt Monkey – Freaks

0

This week we have Dirt Monkey and Jantsen coming together to bring us Freaks out now via Kairos Audio. These two guys come together once in a while to do fusion dance from DBZ in order to drop a next level sounding hybrid track. They’ve never been afraid to mix genres and on this one we’ve got Hip-Hop, Trap & Dubstep and it really works well. The intro is fresh and leads into more spookier synths layered over some epic sounding stabs that stuck in my head immediately.

The drop sneaks up on you and crawls compared to the fast pace the tune had before; but that’s exactly where all the filth starts coming in. Dirty wobbles combined with a deep bassline and crisp drums and all I can imagine after the drop ..is being pressed against the railing going wild with my friends in the sunlight on a hot festival day. In my experience, a song that can take you somewhere when you close your eyes is always one of the best. I actually like almost everything about this song, especially how well the vocal sample was used throughout. There are no sounds out of place and no overkill with the bass.

More than anything I love it when two artists have enough chemistry to put out some wicked tunes together like Arty and Mat Zo; and these two from Boulder, CA have been in and out of the lab with each other for three years making tracks and are showing no signs of slowing down. If you’re a fan of bass music, you’re gonna love the collection below. It features a lot of tunes that these guys came together for and every song is available for free download. Everyone is a winner.
