Art Department has today revealed 2 remixes to their track Kisses For Roses from their 2014 artist album, Natural Selection. Not ones to skimp on the remix package, heavy hitters The Martinez Brothers and Soul Clap have been pegged to deliver their own cuts on the single. Both remixes are out now via Ultra Music and Art Department’s very own No.19 Music.
The Martinez Brothers fully embrace their upbeat mindset for their take, producing a body jacking, 4 to the floor peak time thriller. A whirling array of acidic-tinged synthesizer play infectiously wraps the top line, offering a stark juxtaposition to the slow burning original mix.
Boston natives Soul Clap take a predictably less club-minded approach. Mixing the original vocal sample into a flurry of half step beats, claps, and stutters, Soul Clap’s rendition chugs along a funk-fueled road that aptly keeps the soul of the original intact. A wonderful middle ground between Art Department’s original and the Martinez Brothers’ take. The package is topped off nicely with a second offering from Soul Clap – a dub remix.
