Machines In Heaven are hot off the release of the single Displacer, a white-hot tune with nod to new rave and old school electro aesthetics, combined with a Jamie XX-inspired penchant for spacious, dreamy production, with a remix EP paying tribute to the best in Scottish electronic music.
Dubbed “The Machines & Pals EP”, The Revenge first reinvented the tune with a stripped-down guitar dub premiered on XLR8R and now fellow Scottish tastemaker Nightwave adds her distinct style to the mix, subversively spreading the magic of Displacer in increasingly diffuse and creative directions that are turning heads from techno, house, and ambient-minded tastemakers the world over with her sublime 6AM remix. Hearkening back to ultra-dark techno aesthetics, Nightwave stays true to name in giving both a further industrial but also life-like feeling to the original record.
Accompanied by fellow Scottish newcomer Infant Telethon’s Deluxe Feel remix, premiered via Clash Magazine, “The Machines & Pals EP” provides a sampling of the very best emerging names from Scotland. These Displacer remixes waste no time in hitting second-wind and kicking in the door on a largely unsuspecting wealth of internet-dwellers, forward-minded DJs, and techno heads wherever they reside.
‘It’s a lovely remix from Graeme, ideal for playing out, sweet melodies too. Real peach this, thx. Reminds me a little of the Pampa stuff.’
