YOUR SHOT, one of the world’s biggest and mostexciting DJ competitions, officially launches in the United States today on Vevo. With the backing of 7UP and dance music icon Tiësto, the 10-part web serieswill document the journeys of 30 aspiring DJ’s as they are provided with extensive training and compete to ultimately win the chance to perform with Tiësto in Las Vegas and to show off their skills at Ultra Music Festival Miami 2016, as a featured performer on 7UP’s Stage 7.
Your Shot powered by 7UP is a eight-week competition to discover and train America’s next wave of DJs. Distinguishing this competition from all other DJ competitions is that no DJ experience was required to enter; applicants needed only be committed to learning the skill. From the thousands that registered, only thirty will be selected to learn everything they need to know to play real parties and clubs for massive crowds.
Throughout the series, viewers will live through the eyes of the contestants – The various rounds will include comprehensive DJ training at the Your Shot Training Academy in Los Angeles and a Los Angeles Showcase event before a packed crowd and panel of judges including agents, managers, DJs and Tiësto, himself. The top 6 finalists will go to Las Vegas to participate in a week of mentoring with Tiësto and other notable DJs, resulting with one Your Shot contestant winning the title and taking to the stage to open for Tiësto at the Hakkasan nightclub in Las Vegas. Tiësto has been fundamental in helping to launch the careers of some of the world’s best known DJs including Hardwell, Martin Garrix and Oliver Heldens, to name a few.
In Episode One, Tiësto is bringing Your Shot to the United States for the very first time. Thousands of DJ hopefuls have registered for the chance to learn how to DJ from the best in the business and play massive parties in Los Angeles and Vegas. But only one will be chosen to open for Tiësto at Hakkasan nightclub in Las Vegas and fly to Miami to play Stage 7 at Ultra Music Festival. This isn’t going to be easy for the contestants (or the judges), but the journey for each DJ hopeful is unforgettable.
In Episode Two, the judges meet with the potential contestants at a kickoff party in downtown Los Angeles where they must decide who, among the 30 contestants, will move on to the next phase of the competition. Be on the lookout for a surprise from Tiesto for all the contestants camping out in line!
Tune in each Monday as new episodes showcase DJ training, a DJ skills showcase and mentorship from Tiësto leading up to the final reveal of the Your Shot USA winner. Along the way there will be plenty of tension and emotion as the contestants vie for the big prize.

Your Shot began in 2010 when young Australian, Steve Pillemer, recognized that there were thousands of aspiring DJ’s and dance music lovers across Australia, desperate to live out their dreams and swap the bedroom for the mainstage. He set out to create the very first DJ competition in the world, which eliminated the usual hurdles of breaking into the scene by offering a contest where zero DJ experience was necessary to enter. Before long, Your Shot had cemented itself as one of the most exciting and unique events to hit the Australian music scene.
