Sydney native Wave Racer has unveiled his anticipated “Flash Drive” EP via Future Classic featuring special guests Lido, Cosmo’s Midnight, and B▲by. The EP is now available to stream in full via SoundCloud. A neat package of 4 tracks, Flash Drive boasts the distinct sound Wave Racer has been best known for in his remixes and original productions since 2013.
The summer of 2015 saw Tom Purcell AKA Wave Racer on his first headlining national tour, selling out shows in the US and playing to giant crowds on the festival circuit including TomorrowWorld, North Coast Music Festival, Electric Zoo, and Life is Beautiful. Before Wave Racer, Tom Purcell was making disco house and was very much influenced by the classic Ed Banger Records imprint catalogue. Steeped in the nostalgia of soul like Earth Wind & Fire and The Whispers, he tried his hand at combining them with more modern genres like Chicago Footwork, and Jersey and Baltimore Club. The result was an amalgamation of timeless music and inspirations to form a unique sound that is the true sum of its parts, and then some.
