EVENTS: CODA – The November 2015 Lineup

CODA has you covered on all bass-es with this unruly November line-up! This month welcomes back a number of Toronto’s favourite international DJs, who have overtime become part of Toronto’s underground family. Masterlab will bring its drum and bass on November 6th with Ivy Lab and Klute, while Seth Troxler returns to the decks for a night of wacky techno Saturday November 7th. The 13th brings incredible producer and vocalist Fritz Kalkbrenner, who’ll grace us with a live performance of his recent album “Ways Over Water.” Daniel Portman makes his debut at CODA November 14th, alongside Toronto veteran ADDY. The one and only Green Velvet is thrilled to be returning to one of his favourite cities and venues on November 20th, while Venezuelan duo Fur Coat (Crosstown Rebels) stop in on Saturday the 21st. UK techno maestro Skream will play an open to close set which you won’t want to miss, on Friday November 27th!

Masterlab presents its 6th instalment of their Drum n’ Bass seriest at CODA. Taking over the decks on November 6th is North London Drum n’ Bass trio Ivy Lab (Critical Music) along with London, UK based Commercial Suicide label boss Klute.

Seth Troxler – The eccentric character and political figure for dance music’s authenticity, returns to CODA on November 7th for a night of corky house and wacky techno.

Fritz Kalkbrenner makes a stop at CODA on November 13th as he travels across the world for his “Ways Over Water” tour. His “Ways Over Water” album was released this past March, and is a soulful melodic house album which debuts Fritz Kalkbrenners productions and his very own outstanding vocals. You may recognize his voice from the infamous track by Brother Paul Kalkbrenner Sky and Sand.

Toronto has as special place in its heart for the beloved Daniel Portman. The DJ/Producer from Zurich always leaves a lasting impression on the dance floor. As his Toronto fan-base continues to grow, this will be his first ever show at CODA and it’s expected to be a house music stormer!


green velvet

You can never get enough of the man with the green mohawk, and that’s why we’re thrilled to welcome back Green Velvet at CODA on November 20th. Joining him will be the LA based, Dirtybird artist Justin Jay to rock the house.

Venezuelan duo Fur Coat (Crosstown Rebels) are todays top tier selectors for deep sexy house, and dark groovy bass lines. Influenced by salsa and soul, these guys know how to bring out emotive energies in the sets they play.

If you’ve had the pleasure of seeing the legendary UK DJ Skream play live, you know you can’t miss out on this open to close set Friday, November 27th at CODA. The charisma and energy that he brings to a room is only understood by experiencing it for yourself. Playing open to close gives Skream the opportunity to really get to know the crowd, so expect to get acquainted!
