In the build up to the release of their highly anticipated fourth studio album, Chase & Status return with the aptly named London Bars series via their own MTA Records; which sees them unite once again with some of the UK’s most prominent players. The last decade has seen the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Kano, Tempa T, Plan B, Roll Deep (Riko, Scratchy and Trim) all feature on Chase & Status records and now the duo are set to continue reaffirming their British roots and connection to the underground with several colossal collaborations.

Now in the third week of the project, Chase & Status surprise us yet again with Volume III, this time featuring South London rapper Bonkaz. Having shot to fame with his single We Run The Block, Bonkaz has shown himself to be an emerging UK artist to watch, blending genres with his unique hybrid sound. Having just released another big single You Don’t Know, Bonkaz couldn’t resist jumping on London Bars, delivering Wha Gwarn? as premiered by Charlie Sloth on BBC Radio 1Xtra. “Might have to put a new sound on the playlist.”

Volume I was the hard-hitting Funny featuring BBK’s Frisco. One of the pioneering collectives of the Grime scene, BBK have had a meteoric rise over the last 18 months which has seen its members performing all over the globe. Frisco, aka Big Fris, known for his larger than life lyricism & razor sharp flows takes this opportunity to discuss the power of the scene; “They said Grime was dead, I couldn’t stop laughing.” Volume II of the London Bars project comes courtesy of Peckham hailing rapper and SN1 member, Giggs. Since first releasing music back in 2008, Giggs has carved a strong path and position for himself having collaborated with the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Mike Skinner, and JME, proving his worth as one of the stand-out talents in UK Urban Music. Now expanding this extensive collaborative catalogue to include Chase & Status, Giggs stands tall on More Ratatatin.

C&S said, “London Bars is a project we’re very passionate about. It showcases some of the most exciting MC’s to emerge out of the UK and was a real privilege to work with legends and rising stars alike.”
