NEWS: Special Snapchat Filters for (RED) Designed in Partnership with Tiësto and More

Selfies are helping save lives today!

As a part of #GivingTuesday and World AIDS Day, Snapchat released three special filters in support of the (RED) foundation. Every time one of these three filters is used on a picture or video, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will donate $3 to the (RED) organization, up to $3 million. Considering Snapchat has 100 million daily active users according to CEO Evan Spiegel, it’s probable that the campaign will max out by the end of the day.

The different filters were designed in partnership with DJ Tiësto, actor Jared Leto and talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. The three designs will be switched up periodically throughout the day, so check the app often.

Adding a filter on Snapchat is easy to do. First, make sure they are enabled within the app (Settings >> Additional Services – Manage >> Filters). Simply snap a picture or video as you normally would, then swipe left on the screen through the filter options until you see today’s limited edition ones. Then share it with your friends or add it to your Snapchat Story. Charitable giving couldn’t be any easier!
