EVENT PREVIEW: A State Of Trance 750 Toronto with Armin Van Buuren 30-01-16

Not long ago, Toronto trance fans were tuned into Armin van Buuren’s A State Of Trance radio show announcements for the 650th episode celebrations. Wearing our red 650TO shirts, and the dream to turn Toronto into one big dance floor, the highly anticipated last day of announcements came and went, and Toronto did not make the selected cities. There were many intense emotions felt that day but in our hearts the dream of a world class Trance show in our home never died.

Nearing the end of 2015, Armin had a special surprise for Toronto when the announcements for the ASOT 750 show were being unveiled. Toronto was finally selected to be hosting the ASOT 750 episode celebration in the new year of 2016! Better late then never, the ASOT 750 show will be at the Enercare Centre (formerly the Direct Energy Centre) in Toronto this coming Saturday, January 30th, 2016.

Trance fans gathered anxiously on Ticketmaster to secure themselves a part of this special moment in Toronto nightlife. What an incredible feeling it is for fans of the genre to finally have this event back in our own front yard. We can all stow away our suitcases and enjoy this event in our great city whilst welcoming Trance fans to our homes as they have welcomed us to theirs in previous years.

The lineup is fully unveiled at this point and we know that we will have major trance heavy weights Standerwick, Solid Stone, Ben Gold, Orjan Nilsen, Andrew Rayel and, of course, Armin Van Buuren himself to pump out an incredible evening from 8PM to 2AM.

Armin Van Buuren performed at one of the legendary closing parties of The Guverment Nightclub complex last January; with no doubt, the question of how he will top that show is on everyone’s minds. It is quite the brain teaser to predict what this event will hold based on the lineup. I personally am most anticipating Standerwick after hearing his monstrous set at Dreamstate San Bernadino this past November. He closed off his set with his track All Of Us featuring vocals by Jennifer Rene; it is a moment I have wanted to relieve since leaving California!

Further more, I am also craving to hear Solid Stone live for the first time at this very celebration. With the Canadian’s Soundcloud filled with Tech-Trance inspired goodness, and his Facebook influence description stating just “Cowbells”, one cannot help but to be excited for what he has in store for us at ASOT 750! His Afterhours.FM End Of Year Countdown set for 2015 was simply amazing, definitely worth a listen before the celebration.

We cannot forget about the rest of the line up. The young Brit Ben Gold from London UK is on the set list as well. The ASOT festival veteran has world wide experience that transcends into every bit of his music. He played at BETA Waterloo last year and what a show it was he put on for the crowd. Ben Gold, the owner of Goldrush recordings, carries the honor of having his track I’m In A State Of Trance being crowned as the ASOT 750 anthem. Proper track, proper title, proper artist.

Orjan Nilsen and Andrew Rayel will also be a part of the celebration. These two Armada artists have been on the rise lately and its well deserving for the two to be featured at the celebration. The Norwegian Orjan Nilsen is known for massive tracks like No Saint Out Of Me and Violetta. He dished out an incredible set at Dreamstate San Bernadino showing off his DJ prowess, to the surprise of many after being slotted among some of the best psy-trance acts. Andrew Rayel, the pride of Moldova, is coined as the modern day Mozart of trance with his incredible mastery of the piano as seen in his track Musa. I am eager to hear will he play my personal favorites Until The End with Jwaden and How Do I Know with Jano.

I cannot even begin to gather my thoughts on this long awaited event for Toronto. With such an incredible celebration ahead of us its hard not to wish for January 30th to come quicker. Will you be there that night to help turn Toronto into one big dance floor? RSVP to the official event page here!
