Mako currently has the #1 dance track at radio with Smoke Filled Room. The electronic production duo’s intoxicating new single has been soaring up the pop and dance radio airplay charts for weeks, and this week reigns as the most played dance track on radio. The track is gaining momentum with increasing spins on both SiriusXM’s BPM and iHeart Radio’s Evolution channels. SiriusXM pop station Venus has also officially added Smoke Filled Room to its playlist.
To celebrate, Mako – Logan Light and Alex Seaver – have released an official music video for Smoke Filled Room, debuting on Popcrush.
The song has received nearly eight million plays on Soundcloud, Spotify and YouTube. It was co-produced by rising New York City producer Prince Fox and mixed by Grammy award-winning engineer Miles Walker and once again showcases the duo’s unique ability to merge their emotive and inspiring songwriting talents with state of the art production. Seaver assumes lead vocal duties.
“This song is a really big step forward for us,” Mako shares. “We believe it’s somewhat of an insight into where we’d like to take our project ahead. It’s much more of an emphasis on songwriting from a place of storytelling and experience and less about power of production underneath. In that sense it definitely feels a little risky since it might not come across as ‘obvious’ as some of our past records. Hoping this one can paint a visual world for our audience in a way that they might not normally experience.”
2015 was a milestone year for Mako. Aside from several high-profile festival appearances – including Lollapalooza, EDC Las Vegas, TomorrowWorld, Electric Forest, Electric Zoo: Transformed, Global Dance Festival, Sunset Music Festival, Something Wonderful, and Miami Music Week – the pair also embarked on their own headlining club tour and released back-to-back collaboration tracks that garnered serious looks with I Won’t Let You Walk Away featuring vocals from Madison Beer and Children Of The Wild, Mako’s collaboration with Steve Angello. Look for Mako’s debut album in 2016.
