As Canadians, living in a region where the air hurts your face and winter wipe-outs are almost inevitable, the coming of spring is generally a highly anticipated time for most of us. Not only is the thought of warmer weather both comforting and exciting, but spring time in Waterloo means something else to look forward to. The Transcendence Series is returning to BETA Waterloo this spring with a wave of some of the best trance you’ll find in Ontario. This will be the second year of this series, with last year bringing in such names as Markus Schulz a.k.a. the unicorn slayer, Gareth Emery, Norin and Rad, and everyone’s favourite psy guru, Simon Patterson.
This year, BETA is spoiling us by adding a fifth night to the transcendence series! The incredible line-up includes (drumroll please!): Aly & Fila (for their first ever appearance at BETA!), Ferry Costen, Simon Patterson, Super8 & Tab, and possibly the most intriguing is a rare classics set by Myon and Shane 54. Dates will be listed below. BETA must be doing something right, because many of these artists seem to keep coming back for more! Keep up the great work guys!
2016 alone has already held some big nights for this venue, having hosted a sold-out Benny Benassi show this past Valentine’s Day, and previously having Emma Hewitt and Craig Connelly together in one night, to name a few. I must say that finally seeing Emma Hewitt sing live was absolutely incredible; plus pairing her performance with a set by Craig Connelly all in one night was an absolute treat! BETA shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon either, with a whole whack of upcoming shows before the Transcendence event even starts, including but not limited to Manzone & Strong, Cash Cash, Max Vangeli, Green Velvet, and Mark Sixma.
With all these artist announcements flying around, we cannot forget to mention one of the best things about these events: the price. BETA is known for its unbeatable ticket prices, often offering free tickets to those who download them online prior to the show for certain events. I have yet to hear of any other venue doing this.
The Transcendence Series will be offering a 5-day pass, starting at $35. Yes, you read that right, $35 for ALL 5 shows. Plus not to forget that drink prices are cheaper than in Toronto! Even after factoring in transportation costs, I believe this is still an incredible and unbeatable deal. You won’t be crying when opening your wallet or reading your credit card bill, as I have done many a time after a night out in Toronto. Tickets for the Transcendence Series will go on sale on February 18th at noon and can be found on the beta tickets website. With all that being said, these tickets will sell VERY quickly, so it’s best if you’re diligent and get your tickets as soon as they go on sale to ensure you do not miss out!
